A couple nice Rossin's on the bay

Anyone that knows me by now knows that I have a serious soft spot for Rossin's. I'm always searching for them online, and I'm sure at some point I'll end up with a second one. Anyways, here are a couple I came across on ebay recently:

Although I'm not a big fan of the modern components on the bike, this thing is pretty sick. I love the old TT frames, and they are super rare. Link to auction and more photos HERE.

I'm posting this one because its literally the first time in almost 2 years that I've found another Rossin like mine. This is the RLX, a columbus SLX frame. Overall, its pretty similar component-wise as mine. I think mine is in better shape though ;) Either way, its nice to know that another exists out there. Link to auction and photos HERE.

GORGEOUS Rossin Pista

As you can probably tell by now, Rossin pista's are at the top of my list for grail bikes. This fine example was built for a customer at Superb in Boston. Check out more of this beauty HERE.

One off Rossin Pista

While sifting through the Velo Cult Museum, I came across this wild Rossin Pista. The details such as the gilco tubing, and that weird low hanging bottom bracket point to this being a one off frame. Looks like my size too ;) See more HERE.

Brooklyn Pavé Ride 2011

The Brooklyn Pavè Ride is an annual ride that falls on the same day as the Paris Roubaix. Its main intent is to cover as many of the cobblestone streets in Brooklyn as possible. I would have to guess that there were about 40 riders on everything from fixed gears to tall bikes. By the end of the cobbles, my hands and arms were jello. I heard sounds coming from my bike that I've never heard before.

After the ride we ended up at the lakeside lounge, where 2 for 1 beers got me ripped pretty quick. I missed out on this ride last year, so I was really looking forward to it. It definitely didn't disappoint. Best Sunday in awhile! I really wish I had my good camera with me. All these came off my iphone.

Photoshoot: PJ's Rossin TT

Today was by far the best weather we've had in NYC this year. On top of that it was my birthday. On top of that, my friend PJ just got his Rossin TT rideable. Obviously we went riding. I actually found this bike on craigslist over the winter. I was gonna scoop it, but I didn't go for it so he jumped on it.

PJ broke his ankle in the fall and has been rehabilitating it. This is essentially his rehab bike. It was unpractical riding it with drops in the city, so he opted for some risers with Paul levers. It is a freakin blast to ride and is super smooth. Hes got further plans for it, but for now its going to be a commuter and rehab machine.

The west side path was full of people out enjoying the weather. Such an amazing day out today!

ebay watch!

I've been out of town the past few days, hence the lack of posts. Being the ebay whore that I am, I sorted through a few current and ended auctions of some beauties I've been watching.

this made my morning!

I remember seeing this project in progress awhile back. The owner had a cracked Rossin Ghibli road frame that he turned into a pursuit bike. I never thought it would come this far. Looks amazing!! Click photo to enlarge.

small changes

I'm sure everyone is sick of seeing the Rossin by now. I made some small changes the other night. I switched the black 110mm cinelli 1a for a silver 90mm 1a. I also changed the bars to cinelli 64-40's, and put the clips and straps back on. I don't think I will be riding this as much now since I got the BMC, so I wanted to make it a bit more of a comfortable ride. The top tube is a bit long so I compensated with them stem. Sorry for the shit pictures. Straight off the ol' iphone 4...
