Ride to City Island 5.1.11 (aka anti 5boro ride)

A bunch of us decided to take a spin out to city island. The plan was to end up at seafood city and gorge ourselves before riding back.

The weather was perfect. We met at columbus circle, and headed down the west side highway path. From there we didn't know exact routes. We ended up on some sketchy, traffic ridden streets, and torn up pathways. We eventually hit a nice clean bike path that led us right into city island, and to seafood city.

If you ever go there, don't order the combo platter unless you are feeding 6 people. Benson got it and left half of it even with the rest of us picking at it. I ordered some fried skrimps and fries, and washed it down with beer.

On the ride back I felt like a sloth. We got lost a few times in the Bronx. No one really knew where we were going. Eventually we found our way to Randalls island. We used that as a pathway into queens, and I took the Pulaski bridge home to Brooklyn.

All in all I clocked 50 miles, and hit 4 boroughs not including Randalls island and city island. This was the same day as the 5 boro ride in NYC. Having done the 5 boro last year, I think our 4 boro tour was much more enjoyable. Good times!
