BMC in new form

I haven't posted in awhile. I've been going through a lot of personal shit lately. Long story short, my girlfriend of 5 years and I broke up. It's been pretty tough. I'll leave it at that.

On a lighter note, I finished my BMC a couple weeks back. Changes include a 2012 Force group, Gore ride-on cables, Ritchey WCS carbon curve bars, new decals on the zipps, and the SLR carbonio saddle. The saddle has actually been on there for awhile, but is sort of new. Its a whole new bike, and buttery smooth!

Solo mission: Brooklyn to river rd to piermont and back...

This past wednesday I took a solo ride to Piermont via river rd. Just under 66 miles. We're having such awesome weather here, its insane. To me, 35-45 degrees is plenty warm to fully enjoy a nice long ride. I mean, I do enjoy long rides in even colder temps, but the overall enjoyability goes down when it goes under 35 imo. Shit has been perfect here. Tomorrow is supposed to be the same, and another long excursion is planned. Until then...

Piermont Solo mission 11/27/11

I'm a little behind on updates. Anyways, the day after I got back from Thanksgiving vacation, I felt the need to head out on my own and burn off some excess calories. I ate like a fucking pig for 4 days straight. I headed out on a normal route up 9w to Piermont. Trip total was just under 65 miles from Bushwick and back.

Brewster ride, 9/4/11

Last Sunday a bunch of us took the train up to Brewster, NY and rode back to NYC. The ride was awesome. The weather was perfect and there was never a shortage of beautiful scenery. 80% of the ride was on backwoods trails. There were a couple of miles of dirt trails where I wish I had my CX bike. Overall we totaled a bit over 80 miles.

All photos via iphone.

This is a partial map before my phone died:

We ran into a classic car show mid way through.

TDF Final Stage! Cadel in the Yellow!

BMC Racing posted this photo this morning of Cadel Evans in the yellow jersey saddling up for the final stage of the Tour De France. Its been a great run so far and an amazing effort by team BMC. I have plans to watch the replay later on today with some friends, but I can't resist watching it live RIGHT NOW. I hope its worth watching twice! Also, I wouldn't mind having that yellow BMC Team Machine in my stable either ;)

BMC in its new form

The BMC has come a long way since I got it in January. Now sporting a Ritchey cockpit, and Zipp 404's, I couldn't be happier. The bike is the stiffest, most responsive frame I've ever ridden, and with the new wheels its even more so. The Zipps were made possible with the sale of my Kilo. Buy, trade, build, upgrade, sell, repeat.

GWB ride

One of my favorite quicker rides in the city is riding the west side path out to the GWB. I headed over P's house after work yesterday, and we rode out there on the road bikes. The weather was perfect, as was the scenery, and as always its an enjoyable ride. P has some sick bikes in his stable, and his Merckx is probably my favorite. Photos via iphone...
