I skated for the greater portion of my life. I haven't in the past 2 years, but I think about it every day. It was a huge part of my life. I hope that someday I get the time to get back on the board.
I like to think that I was part of the golden era of skating. Way back before you had skateparks in every neighborhood and park, we used to build our own in basketball courts, front yards, or any other spot we could sneak into. Most of the time, our ramps would get taken only to be rebuilt again and again. I wish I had the resources back then that kids do now. Ahh nostalgia.
Anyways, I really got into watching all the old decks I used to have back then go for thousands on ebay. I could have been a rich man today had I known that. I stumbled upon this site a few years back and it really blew my mind: skate and annoy
I only have one deck from back in the day. A Jeremy Klein world industries mario deck. Its pretty beat, but still a wall hanger. I've collected a bunch of reissue decks. Someday I hope I can afford the real deals, but they are so effin expensive. Instead I watch ebay and drool.
These are a few shots that I found randomly, and somehow they bring me back so I kept them.
I also found this recent sick mini ramp vid of Chris Haslam...insane!:
